Kalamazoo, Michigan is where it all began! Andy and I met on June 13th 2013 through mutual friends all attending Western Michigan University. A mere two months later we started dating after I put together a puzzle that said “Deanna, will you be my girlfriend?” I said “yes!” on August 15th 2013. Our love for each other grew over our five years together as a couple. We bring out the best in each other through laughter, communication and simply enjoying the little things in life!
I said “yes!” again on September 28, 2019. After some elaborate planning to keep the surprise under wraps, Andy proposed on the roof top of our favorite restaurant in downtown Kalamazoo! We enjoyed a nice meal and a glass of wine at Food Dance, just the two of us after friends “cancelled” on our double date. As we were walking out of the restaurant, I noticed that Andy stopped to talk to the hostess which then lead us into an elevator. As the elevator doors opened, I was presented with roses, champagne, and candlelight! In that moment, my heart fluttered as I turned around and Andy was down on one knee. After the proposal, we spent time together, over-looking the city of Kalamazoo at sunset and cherishing this moment! With my observant personality, I knew that Andy would have to put in a lot of thought to keeping his proposal a surprise! Andy is one thoughtful guy who put a lot of effort into making this moment a memorable one for the both of us.
We are so excited to join families and start the rest of our lives together! I can’t wait to say my final “yes!” on september 25, 2020 as I marry my best friend, biggest supporter, and love of my life! Thank you to all our family and friends for sharing in all these moments, we appreciate your endless love and support!
We invite you to come experience The Village at Grand Traverse Commons, where one of the largest historic preservation and adaptive reuse redevelopments in the country is underway.
